The Model T: Henry Ford In The 1920's

In the 1920s Henry Ford created the first american made horseless carriage. The first automobile was called the quadricycle. Henry Ford soon created The Ford Motor Company. After the first automobile was created The Ford Motor company worked hard to make another automobile. A few years later Ford rolled out the Model T. Henry Ford worked really hard to make the model T to be more affordable to the not so much wealthy people of the 1920s. The automobile was A huge upgrade from walking or riding a horse and carriage everywhere. It could get you there faster and it was more comfortable, During the 1920s the automobile was created and throughout the 1920s they were made faster, easier to drive, and more affordable.
After the model T was created The Ford Motor Company worked really hard to make the automobile faster so they used thinner and lighter metal. The first model T had a 2.90L Inline 4-cylinder motor in it. The model T only went a top speed of approximately 40 mph. Henry ford wanted to make the Model T go faster so they used A thinner and lighter metal. The Model
T could run on gasoline or hemp-based fuel. When the Model T was created it was a lot more convenient than riding a rough horse and carriage.
The model T that Henry Ford created was pretty confusing to drive because the people have never drove a car before.
So in later years Henry Ford started changing the transmission. The four cylinder, twenty horse power Model T first offered in october 1908, sold for $825. Its two speed planetary transmission made it easy to drive, and features such as a detachable cylinder head made it easy to repair. When the automobile was first first invented no one knew how to drive it because it was a standard and no one had ever drove a car before. “The public interest was so big that Ford could not fulfil all the orders the company received. As a result he built new facilities to increase the production and also bought complementary firms to aid the company's growth in the market.” (Dassler). Henry Ford then came out with the Model T. It came with a two speed planetary transmission and it was very simple to
drive.
Henry Ford wanted the Model T to be more affordable to the less fortunate people in america in the 1920s. “Its price dropped from $950 in 1909 to $550 in 1913 to $355 (with automatic starter) in 1924.” (Samuelson). “The Ford plan was to again cut Model T costs, ship cars and parts packages to dealers and make them absorb the costs.” (Collins). When Henry Ford dropped the price on the automobile everyone wanted one. He could not fulfill all the orders he had so he had to make new factories to build the cars. Henry Ford actually increased the pay for his worker from $2.34 for 9 hours to $5.00 for 8 hours a day, So his workers could afford his automobiles.
