The Monkey's Paw Greed

In the short story, The Monkey’s Paw by W.W Jacobs represents desire and greed. The story starts off with sergeant major coming back from India and tells the story of the monkey’s paw that can grant 3 wishes. Mr. white becomes fascinated with the paw and offers to buy it, sergeant major rejects his offer because the monkey’s paw is cursed and throws it into the fire. Before it was destroyed Mr. White grabs it and makes his first wish. This goes to show that Mr. White’s impulse of wanting to make a wish with the paw. He asks for two hundred pounds. He was granted that wish but in unexpected way. His son, Herbert, who died in a machinery accident, the company isn’t going to take responsibility for it but give them what they asked for. Following
