When he meets the landlady, and she is most welcoming, by telling him she’s been expecting him. The story describes how the ‘’Bed and Breakfast’’ sign pulls Billy in, and the story structure is a bit unusual. In the story The Monkey’s Paw three wishes are are granted to the owner of the monkey’s hand, but the wishes come with an enormous price for interfering with fate.
