The Movie Crash is about racial in social division. These factors are what prevents the characters communication effetely. For example, Terrance Howard and Thandie Newton where pull over because they where driving a high profile vehicle at night and because they where African American people. The fact that they are were from different backgrounds in had different lifestyles obtusely affected how they communicated. For example, Ludacris and Larenz Tate lived in a more poverty stricken neighborhood and were used to being treated as lower class citizens. So when confronted by the law they were expectant of the worst. Even though their racial profiling was correct, this is the key factor in which their communication was effected. This is something that happens numerous times through out the film. Each characters assumptions prevented them from seeing who the person standing before them truly was. Sandra Bullocks character lived a sheltered, wealthy and pampered life. And because of her sheltered lifestyle, she was ignorant to the outside world around her. And this effected her ability to understand that, not all Mexican men with tattoos were apart of a gang. Or the fact that Iranians aren’t Arabs. They are actually of the Persian ethnicity. The Iranian store owners cultural situation affected his ability to understand others because of his stereotyping and assumptions that everyone was out to take away from him what he worked hard build. Also the Iranian store owner armed himself and used his arm because he had a misconception about who the Hispanic lock smith really was. And this is where his societal situation effects his understanding of
