In the beginning of the movie, Penny Chenery was just a stay at home house wife. The movie began with her in the kitchen struggling to make a breakfast for her chaotic family. She was very short spoken, and played a background role to her husband career offering very little opinions or options. After the death of her mother, Penny takes over her father’s thoroughbred farm. She quickly transitions from a calm and homey house wife to an exciting and competitive environment, where she soon thrives.
