Does Newman thesis affect the Society? Should students require going to university? Is university the best place for students to become successful person with value job? According to Newman, he believes that students require studying in the university because it is the place to train the intellect and prepare for their future. Moreover, Newman considers that students should study all subjects in the college because these all branches of knowledge are connected together and relate together. When people read the Newman Idea, most people will agree with Newman Idea because the education is very important; and universities have a good educated environment which provides for students. I also agree with Newman Idea when I read this article in the first time. However, I change my idea when I see the result of the society. If people follow Newman’s recommendation, Newman Idea will cause many problems for the society. It also cannot change to the higher education for several reasons: students do not have enough time and money for university, the government will not have enough money to support for students, and society does not have enough employees for unskilled job. First of all, Newman thinks that students should spend more time in university to study the entire subject because all knowledge is connected together. It is a good idea if students love to learn something new around them and to expand their knowledge. However, in the case that some students who do not like the subject but they still have to study it because university require it, it seems not a good idea. In general some students may feel dispirited and have no motivation to keep studying a subject that they are not interested in. Some students may accept to keep their class but actually they will not get any knowledge from this class. Also, others students give up because they do not want to study the subjects which they do not like. Moreover, studying

As the world of work has become more complex, many workers need training to avoid losing their jobs or being passed over for promotion. There’s a lot of competition out there to get employment in today’s workplace but it’s extremely hard for people to get jobs due to not having a college education. Having a college education does prepare you to be competitive in the workplace and prepare you for your career goals. Furthermore, there’s a great return when having a college education because of the income salary increases, career opportunities, retirement savings and healthcare are guaranteed than for someone who does have a college education then someone who doesn’t have a college education. I believe working adults are going back to school to attain a degree because they want to become successful, to avoid losing their jobs to someone who has a college education and staying in a position without any advancements due to the fact they’re not educated enough. Many employers are looking for college educated workers because they learn more tasks quickly, better problem solving, highly driven, motivated, excellent communication skills and able to meet deadlines in a timely manner then someone who doesn’t have a college education. Also, employers want to hire someone with a college degree because their more likely to have the right technical know-how for the job, written skills, oral communication skills, decision-making, and research and analytical skills. As far as some institutions they offer internship programs and employers depend on that during their hiring process. Nevertheless, some institutions feel as though those employers should provide on the job training and the institutions should just focus on educating their students with knowledge. With campus institutions they face overcrowded classes, library…

The choice of whether a student wants to learn is totally up to him or her. Some students do try to succeed in school and receive the education, while others just don't care about their future and their level of education. In every class, there are always the select few of students who are superior and do very well who achieve high grades. These students are usually the ones that participate in class, do their homework, and most importantly, those who try and give an effort. Oppositely, there are some who are at the end of the line who do very poorly, and do not try to succeed at all. They have just given up without even giving a pinch of effort. These students then usually complain that the teacher is being unfair and puts the blame on the teacher, when they have done nothing productive. But on the other hand, there are some factors that can affect this. There are students who do try in school, and yet still seem to be struggling. Some just have problems learning. They don't earn the highest marks in the class, but they are still giving an effort, which is important. There are some scenarios where some students who are just naturally intelligent. They can do…

Since the beginning of our education we are taught that we have to go to college to be successful. However it now has become a debate whether it is actually beneficial or non beneficial on applying to college. Such as a big percentage of students don't become successful after college and just end up in debt. Such as a majority of students think that a high school education is just enough for them to get by. This puts a lot of pressure on students to be competitive and continually having to be doing their best trying to be the ideal student. This gives another reason for students not going to college, as they feel they do not portray the idealistic student who meets the rigorous needs.…

According to Garland, “We must stop allowing the attendance of so-called students who are not interested in studying”. She assumes that all students that do not study are all uninterested in learning and considers them a waist of space, and a danger to other students. I disagree. Because every student is unique, I think every student should be looked at differently. I also believe the reason why some students appear to be uninterested, is because the curriculum is so boring and out of date. If kids are bored, there is really nothing else to do but act out. If teachers made the learning process more interesting, more students would become interested in studying whether it was in or out of class. Lessons taught with a more hands on approach are just some of the ways to make learning more appealing. For example, more school trips, not only does this give students a chance to get away from the boring everyday lectures, but it also allows students to have fun, while learning at the same time.…

Everyone needs some sort of schooling to be successful in life. In school, students learn to read, write, process thoughts and ideas and apply knowledge to outside situations. No one can argue the point that school and education aren’t necessary, because the thought is absurd. In my opinion though, school had become a competition instead of an education. Students have become so focused on being the best in their class, having a GPA a hundredth of a point higher than their friend, being involved in extra-curricular activities, and obtaining as much knowledge to the point of just memorizing rather than understanding. Believing that an average public school education will give you the knowledge you need to be successful in everything that you do in order to make a living is an incredibly false perception. Schooling gives you an education which sets a foundation for like, but how will you live if you’ve never had to think about living? Life lessons are important, but if you’re too busy focusing on schooling and memorizing pointless information, when will you learn to live? You wont get anywhere without having a basic knowledge of people skills and what you should expect from life once you turn 18. These days, the prestige universities are more interested in students who are well rounded and have an understanding of the world around them. Having an understanding of how the world is and will be is ultimately the most important idea you could ever learn. In order to bring education back to its sole purpose, we have to drop the constant competition. The issue with trying to back off competition and return to the original purpose of an education is who will start the trend. People can’t drop what they’re doing and back off to think about the real meaning of education. Because of selfish ambition, that’s impossible. Reevaluation of the system of schooling and learning…

Right now in our society university education is no longer an option or privilege, but rather a necessity. But as technology is constantly advancing and computers are running almost anything, is a college education really necessary? There are people who have never set foot in a college and are doing better than people who have their master's degree. There are views from both sides that contain a valid argument.…

If having a well-paid job is the only measurement for success, then everyone’s goal should be going to university after school. The obvious advantages are the rewards of high salary. For those who want careers which require a degree, this should be their goal. For those who decide to rather aim for alternative careers such as technical work or going into the trades, encouragement should be given to them to follow that path to have a happy and satisfying life even if the pay is lower.…
