The Night George Bennett Alternate Ending
In an old-fashioned town nestled between emerald hills and the vast, shimmering sea lived a boy named George Bennett and his loving sister, Katherine. George’s life had been completely altered by a tragedy that took the lives of both his parents and caused him to lose both of his legs. Yet, thanks to Katherine's unconditional support and devotion, he remained unbroken. The town’s mayor had a son named James, who had fallen deeply in love with Katherine, captivated by her resilience and kindness. However, George faced relentless bullying from his peers. Every day, he endured mocking taunts and cruel jokes about his disability, leaving him to question his place in the world. One gloomy afternoon, with storm clouds overhead and the wind whispering …show more content…
But how did it happen?” she questioned. “It’s a long story.” George replied with a sigh. The two siblings were as happy as ever, but as with every joyful moment, problems were bound to arise, as with every blessing came unforeseen consequences. As George got used to his legs being back, he felt an exhilaration he had long forgotten, a rush of freedom that made him run faster than he ever had. However, he soon noticed an unsettling change in himself. He would feel moments of darkness, fleeting shadows crossing his mind, and whispering doubts that he hadn't felt before. Katherine, who was always perceptive, began to notice these shifts in George. You seem different lately. Are you okay with that?" she would often ask, her brow furrowing with concern. George would dismiss her worries, attributing them to nerves from adjusting to his new life. Oh, it's nothing, don't worry about it." One evening, as George was exploring the outskirts of town, he encountered James, the mayor's son. James greeted him with a mixture of excitement and confusion, unsure how to respond to George's miraculous transformation. I heard what happened, George! It's a great idea, it's incredible! But... are you okay?" Of course I …show more content…
It seemed that James sensed something deeper, like something was wrong. Weeks went by and George continued to enjoy his new abilities, the strange occurrences began to escalate. He started having vivid nightmares, filled with images of the ghostly Vladimir Gibbets, whispering and his words haunting the corners of his mind. The thrill of running soon turned into an obsession, and he pushed his body beyond his limits, tumbling down paths of reckless abandon. As the nightmares continued, George found himself unable to distinguish between reality and the eerie visions that haunted his sleep. He dreamt of Vladimir Gibbets every night, the ghost’s haunting laughter echoing in his mind as he stood before the grave, it always felt so real. Shadows danced around him, whispering secrets he was too afraid to grasp. One fateful night, George was jolted awake by a chilling voice that filled his room. “Your wish has a price, dear George.” The familiar tone sent shivers down his spine. He realized restoring his legs came with a dark burden he could no longer ignore. Desperate, George confided in Katherine about the nightmares and the presence of the

She stepped slowly from the doorframe, letting the light touch her old and faded face as if it were the sun that was to appreciate her presence. She hardly went on walks when I was around.
