Through the years, the ancestors of the modern evolved for millions of years in North America. The horses then migrated to other parts of the world. They traveled Southward and Northward to South America, North America, Europe, and Asia during the glacial period. The horses then became extinct in South and North America, in a extinction period during the end of the Pleistocene epoch period fifteen-thousand years ago. The horses basically became extinct all over the world. About 7,000 years ago, the rest of the living horses then retreated to open grasslands and steppes in Ukraine and Asia. The horses were never seen in the americas until late 1494. Today, there is still ancient horse who survived till the modern times known as Przewalski's horse. This horse became extinct for Mongolians in 1960s but has survived in the americas and other countries. Horses descended from the horses that migrated Asia and Europe. During 100,000 BC the first people arrived in Central Asia and hunted the horses for their leather for clothing tents etc and for meat. Eventually, around 4000 BC people started to domesticate horses for their meat and to ride or make them carry things. The first people that truly domesticated horses were the Europeans. They Europeans domesticated horses for their own us such as plowing. The domestication of horses started with Ukranians South, West Russians, and and West Kazakhstan 6,000 years ago. Horses were domesticated during the Neolithic, Eneolithic , or Bronze Age. The reason why horses were domesticated was for meat,riding, and plowing etc. Horses were the most compatible and trust worthy allies to humans. Various kinds of horses spread throughout the world. Horses appeared in cave paintings, theirs bones featured as a meal for humans, and fossils found in America. Horses that arrived across the Bering Land Bridge became extinct. Horses were then re-established by Europeans in the late 16th century. The steppes of Central Asia were the natural habitat for horses. The reason why the steppes of Central Asia were it’s natural habitat because the steppes help the horses to gallop from harms way
