Even the persons mentioned in the text are confused about time. It is not something that disturbs us but it makes us understand that man’s pursuit of knowledge, of the absolute is timeless. But is it really unexpected? When we read about his experiences in the past, and of his childhood, we realize that he has always been so. He did not realize it in the past. It is only now when he comes face to face with his mortal existence that he is able to understand his past experiences. He is able to understand his present experiences through his past. It is only when he understands that he is in full control of his actions that he realizes about these experiences as being something of his own. These experiences are not something from the outside but from his own inner being. He is able to understand that it is he who can control his reaction towards these experiences, and does so by confronting them.
