The Official Story Movie Analysis
“The Official Story,” is the next movie we are analyzing. This movie is about the life of Alcira, Roberto and their adopted daughter Gaby living in Argentina in the 1980s. This time period is in the last years of the country's military dictatorship during which thousands of political leftists and innocents are killed, tortured and then buried in unmarked graves. Alicia is a teacher and Roberto is a government agent. Alicia starts to wonder about Gaby's real parents. Roberto tells her to ignore it but it seems as though he knows more about the story of his daughter. Ana, Alicia's friend, returns from being held and tortured. Ana tells Alicia that she saw children taken from their parents in jail. After hearing this, Alicia begins to question
