The Old Regime During The French Revolution
The Old Regime was firstly designed by no one other than Louis XIV, which was a French political and social system before the year 1789. Now the major features of life in the Old Regime was that there were 3 estates that were created. The first estate, which you probably can figure out, was made up of all of the clergy members. The 2nd estate of the Old Regime was made up of the nobility. Last but not least, the 3rd estate of the Old Regime was the largest out of them all.
The 3rd estate had made up the peasants, middle class, and the city workers. In the year 1789, the Third Estate went and declared that they were the National Assembly. The life for the 1st and 2nd Estate was that they lived the most luxurious lives basically like the royal
