The OSS used many weapons to take out their missions. They used a grenade which would explode upon impact, and they had a uniform button that would actually be a compass when you opened it up. The oss also had an easily concealed liberator pistol, that could puncture tires, and a deck of cards that concealed a map, but it would only be revealed if the first layer was soaked of. The oss put a lot of thought into their weapons. In wwii their responsibility was to identify and neutralize german activate abroad. They had to have a lot of stealth in their operations, because if you look at their weapons, you can see how secretive they are.

OSS, Gen. William j. Donovan, did not first intend it to be an organization of spies. He first wanted it to support operations in the fields. Later Gen. Donovan realized the value of human reporting, and it was made into a spy organization. Gen. Donovan and President Roosevelt created the OSS based off of British intelligence organization which had three branches, it is the secret intelligence (SI) Branch, The special operations (so) branch, and the Morale operations (mo) brach.
