The Paleo-Indians
The Paleo-Indians, which were believed to have inhabited North America some 15,000-10,000 years ago (Schultz, 2010), were thought by archaeologists to be the first people to reside in the region of what is now known as the United States of America. These hunters traveled from Asia across the Bering Strait in search of large game such as mammoths and were thought to have arrived in North America as early as 50,000 B.C.
