“We all look at the same sun, but we don’t eat the same dinner.” This is a common proverb said by the peasants of Russia, this symbolizes the lack of equality among the classes, other proverbs like “A wife is nice twice: when she’s brought into the house and when she’s carried out of it to her grave.” this shows the inequality among peasants themselves! This inequality added to terrible working conditions were the main conditions that ultimately lead Russia to becoming a country with such great social unrest that one of the greatest changes in history occurred.
When the time came that Russia was to be needed in the great war being fought every man and boy from ages 12 to 25 were enlisted in the army. This great army consisted of mostly peasants, the Russian army may have had bodies for their military but the unprepared in almost all other respects. Most men didn't have head gear and if the did it was the equivalent of a baseball hat in protection wise. Men were dying by the thousands and peasant families were left without help to run their farm
