The Perception Of Fishcheeks, Identity By Julio Noboa
Flowers aren’t always what they seem. For instance, Lilies of the Valley are unique and beautiful, but, they’re poisonous, just like how things aren’t always what they deem to be. In the poem, “Identity” by Julio Noboa, the author describes the reality of both flowers and weeds. A flower could be used as a metaphor to describe a person admired by many but still worried a lot about the possibility of being judged by others. Whereas weeds are people who are more carefree and don't base others' opinions on themselves as much. In the story “Fishcheeks” by Amy Tan, there is a girl named Amy. Amy is described as a flower because of her behavior of caring too much about being judged by others, though she’s loved and cared for.
