B. Assuming Joseph’s heart has stopped, what cellular processes and membrane functions are going to be affected by the loss of oxygen, blood glucose, and waste removal? Assuming Joseph’s heart has stopped, the mitochondria and aerobic processes will be affected. The mitochondria is known as the powerhouse of the cell where ATP is produced. Oxygen and glucose are the main sources of energy for ATP. The muscle cells, liver cells and kidneys cells use ATP at a high rate to maintain homeostasis. The loss of oxygen and blood glucose to his organs will cause him to have a homeostatic imbalance and many of his organ cells will die causing them to lose functions. If his heart has stopped, waste removal will come to a stop. His blood flow aids in removing waste products with needed products to maintain homeostasis. Carbon dioxide is a waster product that needs to be excreted.…
Oxygen and blood glucose are essential ions that are necessary for the pumping of the heart. Their delivery to the heart will slow down. Carbon dioxide levels will increase -- this causes the Ph levels to drop. Mitochondria will no longer have oxygen and glocose, which is needed to make ATP. This causes cells to die.…
E. Joseph’s heart attack has caused the function of his cells to change. What types of proteins in the cell membrane were involved in the homeostatic imbalances of his heart cells?…
His predisposition for vascular disease is held in the Mitochondrial DNA. The information that is needed to repair itself is held in the DNA also but is mainly held in the Messenger RNA, which directs the synthesis of specific proteins that can help repair the body.…

Another reason, why Joseph is classified as a Biblical Hero is that he never gave into temptation. Potiphar's wife tempted Joseph and Joseph did not give into the temptation. This resulted in Joseph being thrown into prison and still Joseph served God with all his heart. He never once doubted God.…
The novel Their Eyes Were Watching God is a compelling story over the main character Janie and her re-occurrence of her battle to free herself from others’ assurance to seek power over her life. In the beginning of the novel the audience glimpses the first sign of seeking power, when Janie’s grandmother is ruling over who she should marry. As the novel goes on Janie is seeking new true love, each person she attempts to form her life with ends up showing some symbolism of controlling Janie physically and also mentally. In the novel Janie struggles to discover her true self, but as the story progresses she develops her own voice. Zora Neale Hurston conveys to her audience that the more you let others have power over you, the less power you have over yourself.…
I gained a better visual of the car the family was riding in while re-reading the story. I didn’t understand they were in a car, I had visualized the family riding in a station wagon. I also became aware of the fact that at the end of the story The Misfit picks up the cat after it had been thrown from the car and the grandmother had been killed.…
First of all, his book includes various examples of symbolism, poems, biblical, weather events, quest, political, and many more examples that change the meaning of the story. Without me reading this book I would have never stopped to think what’s the quest of the story, what does this event mean, is there a biblical reference and many more questions. This book has now taught me to look out for certain things to help me effectively read a book better than I did before reading How to Read Literature like a Literature. After reading this book and moving on to another novel allowed me to see the double meaning of the text. In where as if I hadn’t read the book by Thomas C. Foster I wouldn’t have stopped to think and take much consideration to the story. Additionally, this book made it clear to me that there is only one story and one story only. How could that be? Sounds unbelievable right but it right. The same story is repeated but with a new setting, different character names, different conflicts but still the same meaning and maybe the same ending. If it weren’t for this great novel I would have missed out on all the interesting parts of the story and there meaning. All in all, this book allowed me to gain so much knowledge on how to effectively read a…
