The Person Who Has Made an Impact on Your Life and Explain How and Why This Person Is Important to You.
Over the past years of my life there has always been an important person who has impacted me in many different ways. Through his hard work, determination, and love for family, he has set an example for me to follow and has shaped me into the person I am today. Besides setting an example for me he has become such an important person; due to the support he has given me in the hardest moments of my life, and because of all the sacrifices he has made to provide an education for me. That person is still living today and I am proud to call him, father.

Through his hard work my father has shown me that nothing in this is impossible in this life. Since he was a child the conditions in which he lived forced him to work to bring food to the table. He worked in the fields collecting corn and planting seeds along with most of his brothers. He never had a chance of going to school or getting a formal education, something he dreamed of doing. Even to this day I see with my own eyes how everyday my father comes home exhausted from working in construction, tired of working under the burning sun. However, every day he raises from his bed at six in the morning to head to the same work that tears him apart everyday with the sole purpose of providing an education for my brothers and me. His continuous struggle has motivated me to continue even in the hardest days, to stay up late finishing homework, to get up in the morning and head to school. To work hard and give my best to each single thing I do. With the sole purpose of making my father proud, to show him that all his endless days of hard work was worth it. To demonstrate to him that it is possible for us to get an education, something he never had the opportunity to do.

Not only his hard work but also his determination to give us a better future, and education, impacted me to continue working hard to achieve something he wished to do. I still remember when he used to tell me, “Study, make something of yourself; I don’t want to see you doing the same thing I do”. His determination to give us a better future forced him to leave his family behind and start a new life in a new country. Knowing that he had done all of this for me, made me realize how lucky I was of having such a unique opportunity to study and make someone out of myself. This led me to change my attitude towards school, since until that moment I though school had no purpose. I had always set my mind on getting a job right after high school and just work to have a place of my own, however I realize that to become someone in life you have to be educated and go to college. My father has not only shaped me, but also has become one of the most important people in my life. He has always supported me, even when nobody believed in me, he has always been there and I always thank God because of that.

Through his hard work, determination and sacrifice my father has impacted me to become a hard working person since he always told me that hard work always paid off, not instantly but sooner or later. Also he taught me to appreciate everything I have, and to never get carried away by money, to get an education and become someone in life. He has become one of the most important persons in my life, because of the way he supports and understands me. My father has shaped me into the person I am today, and I will always be thankful for having him in my life.

Without a reminder of the importance of our personal work or what we work towards, our work would be meaningless. I am cognizant that the obstacles my parents regularly had to face forced them to bond more and spend more time with each other than they would have in their home county, but they were repeatedly reminded that people on similar circumstances did not succeed in their journey, and in many occasions had to return to face of the troubles they had tried to escape. Celebrating their 35thweddig anniversary this year, my parents have kept their vows and therefore found a way to surmount the brick walls they have faced together, and they have passed on to me this resilient…

This is a tribute to a man that has always been and will always be my mentor. His name is Alan Dale Jacobson, he is my father. He is not technically my father by blood, but he is by far the best father I could have ever asked for. I have known him my entire life as Uncle Al until I was 13 and he married my mother and our relationship went to a whole new level. He taught me many things like pride, honesty, to put my family above all things, and how to be an honorable man.…

I do not know how to pick a person who has made the most impact in my life. There are many people who have done little things to shape me up and helped me guide where I’m trying to go right now. I definitely can not say that this person has made me who I am today because I honestly think that I’m too young to have a fixed personality. As I keep growing, I want to thank my parents who have supported me from the day I was born. My dad has gone through an unbelievable period of hard work to provide for our family. But I also want to give some extra credit my mother who has gone through extraordinary pain to bring me into this world. It is very difficult not to write about my parents because they have probably made the biggest impact in my life. However, if I had to write about someone who has made an impact on me at the moment, it would have to be my uncle, Irfan Bukhari. Throughout this essay though, I am going to call him Uffi Mamu because that is what I and all my cousins call him.…

Coming from a lower middle class family and owning a horse (very expensive) I had to work for everything I have today. Nothing was ever handed to me. My horse and I didn’t spend hours at the trainers getting ready for a horse show, nor did my mother and father do everything for me. My mother pushed me out of my contentment. By her doing this it made me a confident and determined person today. She had me take a college public speaking class that was out of my norm but it matured me greatly. My father taught me gratitude. His life threatening health problems informed me that in a second your whole world can alter around you. He taught me to never take anyone or anything for granted. The best sight to me is to stroll into the kitchen and see my short living great-grandma struggling to reach the vanilla on the top shelf. With an inconvenience like that she will always find a way to manoeuver around it and continue on making her exquisite homemade vanilla ice cream. It's a good thing that she only makes this ice cream for special occasions, or else every one in our family would be tubby like her. Tubby is not a bad quality for a grandma though, because grandmas are suppose to be cuddly and comfortable to lay with. In addition to making the world's best homemade ice cream, she is the most loving and warm hearted person I know, and that is why I love her and look up to her so much.…

Ever since I was young, my parents expected excellence. At the time, I did not enjoy the high standards they set for me, but I cannot thank them enough now. Ever since I was around five years old, we worked hard. We mulched the beds of roses every summer, stacked colossus piles of firewood, painted the barn, shoveled embankments of snow that covered the driveway every morning, baled the hay for the horses, and anything that was needed of my sisters and me.…

As a child, I had always looked to my father as a hero. To me, he was strong enough to take on an army one handed, tall enough to reach for the moon and give it to me, and wise enough to know everything about everything. There was nothing my father could not do. He took time to teach me to read, write, walk, and talk. When learning how to walk, like any child I would occasionally fall. My father would pick me up and put me back on my feet. He always encouraged me to “get up and try it again.” I felt no doubt in his eyes; he made me believe that I can accomplish anything that I set my mind to.…
