English Research Paper Title The Perspective of BSIT-2B Students on the Use of Facebook Proponents Campos, Kurt Galgo, Annjill Junio, Robert Villamor, Jomar BSIT-2B CHAPTER 1 The Problem and Its Setting Introduction Facebook is a tool for connecting to people and it has long since been a part of a modern persons daily life, being founded on February 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg. With an access to the internet in hand, a person can immediately log onto his/her Facebook account or make one if he/she doesnt have one yet. The website offers a lot of activities that makes connecting to people a whole lot easierwith the website, you can share photos to someone across the globe, send a message, share videos, share your thoughts, create groups with people who share the same interests with you, create Like pages for someone or something, and a whole lot more. With the website, you can even play games and play with other people. But with the long list of good things one can get from Facebook comes a list of bad things one can get from the website, too. This study is focused on the perspective of the second year college students studying Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Section 2B, in the University of the Immaculate Conception on the First Semester of Academic Year 2013-2014 on the use of the social networking website Facebook. Some said in the Voice of Yahoo, a website, that one of the pros of Facebook is that they can communicate with their families that are far from them, another one said that, by just having the name of your friend that you dont really know that much, you can gain access to their Facebook account by just searching their name and you may able to know more about them and by chatting with them, you can get to know each other better and there are also some corresponding Cons or disadvantages like people that are assuming to be friends with the person they add on Facebook so they can boast to other people that they are updated with the daily
