Through the gospels, there are different people groups that played a significant part in the role of Palestine in the first century. They influenced the culture in which Christ ministered. Learning more about these people can add greater detail and deeper understanding of the Pharisees.
The Sadducees were the Jewish sect of the rich and powerful, while the Pharisees helped and supported the lower classes in society. Their openness with society and new ideas brought about changes in Judaic belief.
