The Pigs’ Transformation
The book
Animal Farm
, a satire fable, by George Orwell was inspired by the Russian
Revolution (19171945). At the beginning of this novella Old Major gathers up all the animals to tell them about a dream that he has had. Before he shares with them his dream he gives a speech; a speech about a vision of a place in which the animals will live together in peace and harmony and tells them that they must work toward such a paradise. Three nights after the meeting Old
Major dies peacefully in his sleep. After several days of being mistreated the animals decide that they’ve had enough and decide to rebel against their oppressive leader, Mr. Jones. They are successful in throwing him out and take control of the farm and decide to manage the farm by themselves. Three pigs Snowball, Napoleon, and Squealer later take leadership of the animals and formulate Old Major’s main principles into a philosophy called Animalism. Seven Commandments so that it seems that it isn’t a bad thing if they drink, “No animal shall drink alcohol to excess .”(pg.113). Another humanlike thing that they do
