A prescription of water that is homeopathic in nature may bring some improvement to a patient who has total faith in the homeopathic method. The homeopathic method states that the use of a substance that causes disease symptoms can also cure those same symptoms; and that dilution and faith increases potency. A patient who is skeptical of homeopathy may experience a reduced effect or no effect at all. In simpler terms, if you believe that the treatment will work, you will undoubtedly experience symptoms of recovery. We all remember as children when we sustained a cut or a boo boo and the actions our parents took to keep the tears of sadness from breaking through that final breath you take just before releasing a hurricane of wails and salty eye liquid. This more often than not included the parent asking “Would you like me to kiss it honey?” and us responding “Yes!” The sequence would then take place and we would claim the cut to feel better as though touched by an angel or Jesus himself. This, however, is a placebo just like any other. Whether or not it is effective for certain amounts of pain is still under the looking glass
