In schools today, we face many problems as students: having free will, being rebellious, and expressing ourselves. There are a vast amount of different problems and we all deal with them differently in school. A problem at Shepherd High School is the open campus lunch rule. During lunch, driving should be allowed. Having the ability to drive during lunch can benefit for more business in the Shepherd community from all the the students’ purchases. Also, the time during lunch is extremely limited and should be extended. If change is made to the open campus rules, the change should be a privilege for the junior and senior classes. Driving for junior and senior classes during open campus lunch should be allowed at Shepherd High School.
Having the ability to drive during lunch can benefit for more business in the Shepherd community from all the the students’ purchases. There are local business such as, Marrita’s, Jenny’s Diner, and Mcdonald’s that could benefit from having open campus lunch. We only have a limited time for lunch and currently for off campus lunch we can only walk. Having the ability to drive would increases our time consumption and give students more variety of where they can go out to eat. The food at the school cafeteria lacks variety, distributing same food and flavors on a daily basis can cause the student body to have a bore, dull satisfaction for cafeteria food. If the school lets the students have off campus lunch, the students will have a much better variety and tastes.
If change is made to the open campus rules the change should be a privilege for the junior and senior classes. Of course there are always safety issues involved, but in order to help prevent the school for being liable, permission ships shall be made to be signed by parent/guardian.
