Voice recognition, fingerprint scanning, face unlocking, and many other useful features are the newest and advanced features of our era. The human population depends on gadgets for their daily use but it causes them to lack physical and intellectual exercise, as shown through individuals getting overweight, unintelligent and having loss of sleep.
These days, new technology has made daily living much easier and more convenient, example we don’t have to hand wash laundry. Now, it is just a simple procedure that is quick and easy. But when everything is quick and easy it’s not necessarily a better thing, we stop moving around as much for we are too busy staring at our phones, laptops, computer and or t.v. Studies have shown that for every 10 percent rise in what a country spends on information and communications technology, there’s a 1 percent increase in obesity rates. This is the most evident in America where more than two-thirds of Americans are either overweight or obese, which raises the risk of stroke, heart attack, diabetes, arthritis and several types of cancer. This is all because of the fact that we sit at our desk all day, and then eat and having no physical exercise doesn’t help either.
Not only are individuals getting overweight but also becoming less intelligent. Individuals are so used to searching up information that they don’t feel the need to understand or know it off by heart because it’s accessible. This is a large problem for teens, a survey in which teachers stated that they feel like students are more distracted than previous generations. Some 87 percent of teachers agreed with the statement, “today’s digital technologies are creating an easily distracted generation with short attention spans,” while 64 percent agreed with the idea that “today’s digital technologies do more to distract students than to help them academically.” Since they get distracted easier it’s more difficult is be able to understand
