Throughout the last few years, there has been a study that has shown that more than 2,400 animals have died due to stress. Stress can cause aggression, body shaking, body scratching, and pacing which is also a cause made by anxiety. Both of these disorders are bad for the animals just as they are for humans. Animals get stressed is because they are kept in captive conditions, they lose their parent(s), and the space of their enclosures. Animals get stressed by being in captive conditions because they lack mental stimulation and physical exercise, which is very necessary and important for their health. Another reason why these animals experience stress is because they are constantly sold to other zoos, and are being forced to separate from their mothers and to get along with other animals, which to these animals, are strangers invading their cage. They say that they will, “...save animals’ lives and help turn around the health of an endangered species”, but Marine parks and Zoos don’t do this at all. They make these animal’s lives be in danger and their health worsen. They make their lives more dangerous by letting people that are sick touch the animals, which passes the sickness to the animals as well. Zoos and aquariums also don’t feed the animals properly, they don’t give the animals the proper nutrition they need in order to live a healthy life.
