Science has been evolving since the start of man. There have been finding and inventions large and small. Genetically Modified Organisms, also known as GMOs, are one of those large findings. GMOs are a vital part of our world’s food production. In Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley, the creature could be considered a scientific breakthrough and also a genetically modified organism. Many believe that GMOs have the possibility of causing cancer or other diseases. They believe this because of the false information they have been fed. Others believe this because of things that have happened to them or someone close to them. Correlation does not mean causation. “The media had made and insulted fear about GMOs” (“Consumers more educated, still concerned about GMOs”).
