Leo Strauss is the author of an article titled “The Re-education of Axis Countries Concerning the Jews.” He briefly explained the Nazi education for Germany, and then he gave his view on how to replace it with a better education. He chose to talk about Germany among other countries because he had some first hand knowledge about Germany. However, he left Germany in 1932 and never came back to it. Some smaller countries, like Romania and Hungary were forced by the Nazis to join the war, so they can say the Nazi education was inputted on them. One the other hand, we cannot trust the foreign people to teach this education for three main reasons. The first reason is that Germany has its own pride and glory of its tradition that should be kept by the nation itself. It cannot be safe by the foreigners who want to teach the education, and it will be lost by them. Intellectual climate is the second reason that denies foreigners to teach the German education. Intellectual climate meaning the language of any country would be damaged if any other nations or foreign countries come to there. For example, German language was not so safe and not many people understood except the nativities because the Anglo Saxon American came to there. The third reason, Germany does not let Anglo Saxon easily to play in Germany because they have doubt in them about what they already practice and what their theories are. However, they would not know that the only thing that work is law except other theories. A nation or country may look or take another nation as a sample or model but they will never let another nation to come and teach their education. Also, in the last election that has been done, %45 percent of people were voted to Hitler, and the others were in a situation of confusion and helplessness. We could conclude that German people still would not decide yet whether on which side they are standing.
Only the German can teach the education of the German concerning Jews, and German should allow Jews to live in the German cities. The clergy had to stand against the anti-Semitism because it was irreconcilable to the Christianity’s idea that says love your neighbor. Therefore, they realized that anti-Semitism is harmful to their ideas and believe. Furthermore, protestant leader and colleague and high school teachers are more liberal in this country.
