Reputation: The Reputation of Being an Addict to Marijuana Today society, we live with distorted image in the popular media of marijuana as bad drug and marijuana users as immoral, weak, corrupted, out of control, failures, hopeless, and so on. Not all marijuana users end up being failures or corrupted. So many famous people were big time marijuana users and one great example would be the President of The United States, Barack Obama was a heavy marijuana user when he was young. Now look at him, weak, corrupted, out of control, or a failure does not seem to fit his picture since he is the president. All this negative vibe society puts out is bullying marijuana users by bringing their self-esteem down like they are failures in life when they still have the same chance as making out in the world as any other human being. My question is should society give marijuana users a bad reputation?
SOCIETY IMAGE ON MARIJUANA The 1960s, marijuana entered the American mainstream . A youth rebellion swept the nation. Young people especially on college campuses began to protest against U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War. Society called this group “hippies” as the young rebels were called listened to rock and roll music, dressed in colorful flowing clothing, and experimented with drugs. Marijuana users isolate themselves from the rest of humanity, avoiding work, social and family functions simply because no one else is getting high

A marijuana user chooses his or her friendships on one thing; if the other person is a marijuana user. Marijuana dependency causes frequent absent, making it difficult for a Marijuana user to maintain a good track record on the job. Marijuana, while not physically addictive, is emotionally and psychologically addictive. Marijuana users can also experience permanent memory loss, loss of motor skills, lack of manual skills, and
