Air Quality, When a car’s engine is running, several different types of gasses and particles are emitted that can have detrimental effects on the environment. Of particular concern to the environment are carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas; hydrocarbons any of more than a dozen volatile organic compounds. Next i will explain how gas plays a part of the auto mobile revolution. It has become the most important thing on the planet, being that most of the planet uses it. It makes our economy very venerable because most of the oil is coming from foreign countries. Gas prices make our economy inflate. It is a situation of supply and demand. In the 20’s the demand was high the supply as well so you see reasonable prices, as to now a days where it could be 4 dollars easily back then it was around 30 cents even considering the inflation now a days it’s much more expensive. Next I will explain how automobile effected industry. The American automobile plants were assembly line operations, which meant using parts made by independent suppliers and putting them together at the plant. In the early 1900's, the United States had about 2,000 firms producing one or more cars. By 1920 the number of firms had decreased to about 100 and by 1929 to 44. In 1976 the Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association had only 11 members. Next i will explain how auto mobiles pushed the making of new roads. The trend is most noticeable in the United States but is rapidly appearing elsewhere in the world. Before the automobile, people both lived in the city and worked in the city, or lived in the country and worked on a farm. Because of the automobile, the growth of suburbs has allowed people to live on the outskirts of the city and be able to work in the city by commuting. New jobs due to the impact of the automobile such as fast food, city/highway construction, state patrol/police, convenience stores, gas stations, auto repair shops, auto shops. Next I am going to tell you about the car accidents because of lack of laws. Auto mobiles being a new thing meant learning from mistakes. Back then there was no care for traffic laws or speed limit, all you had to have was the money to buy the car; you did not have to get a license also there were very few police officers. The seat belt had not been created yet and you would be surprised how soon that came to be. Drunk driving was not illegal either this is a big cause of most accidents even today. Henry Ford, creator of the first successful combustion engine, his creation gave Americans their freedom to go far out faster, cheaper. Henry Ford was determined to build a simple, reliable and affordable car; a car the average American worker could afford. The Model T made its debut in 1908 with a purchase price of $825.00. Over ten thousand were sold in its first year, establishing a new record. Four years later the price dropped to $575.00 and sales increased even more. By 1914, Ford could claim a 48% share of the automobile market. Now I will conclude the rising effects of the auto mobile. The auto mobile once invented completely changed life as we know it. Experts say that this nation’s air pollution is caused by mobile sources. The auto mobile industries become one of the most important in the planet. There was a high count of car crashes. Henry Ford creates a model that could be bought by most Americans.
