Frank, Clarence, and John escaped alive because of experience escaping other prisons. On page six it states “Morris was certainly no stranger to escape. An armed robber, he had already escaped from several prisons.” This shows that Frank could escaped even the most challenging prisons on Earth. John, Frank, and Clarence could escape the brutal Alcatraz because of experience with many other prisons.
Frank and his friends were cunning with their movements so they could bust out of Alcatraz alive. On page six it
states “carefully avoiding the prison searchlight.” This shows that Clarence, John, and Frank were very careful with where they moved so they were able to escape. Page six also states “they crawled silently across the roof and scrambled down a drainpipe.” This sentence reveals that the Anglin brothers and Frank used anything on the building just to escape this harsh prison. Frank, Clarence, and John were cautious with their movements. That is another reason that the survivors escaped the Rock alive.
Another reason the escapees made it out functioning was because of evidence that was found after the escape took place. On page number nine it states “a raft was found on nearby Angle Island.” This shows that Frank and the Anglin brother’s raft that was fashioned out of raincoats could have been directed to that close island. On the same page it states “a car was stolen that night.” This shows that the escapees could have stolen a car to get as far away from Alcatraz as possible. The Anglin brothers and Frank Morris broke free surviving because of what happened after their audacious escape from Alcatraz.
The three escapees managed to get out of the Rock still functioning properly. Frank Morris, Clarence Anglin, and John Anglin managed to escape Alcatraz alive because of experience escaping other prisons, being cunning with where they are moving, and evidence found after their escape. In conclusion, the Anglin brothers and Frank successfully escaped the heartless Alcatraz.
