he is to make sure that he gives them everything to succeed and harsh and severe punishments if rules are not followed. There is a strong correlation between human practices and heavenly behaviors, the loyalty to everyone corresponds to earth faithfulness to heaven. This gives us a insight into the way they lived.
Confusion writing covered an array of matters, including ethics, government, and rituals. The Mandate of Heaven held the emperor to a certain standard.
He answered directly to Heaven and indirectly answerable to the his people. If the emperor and the government failed to do things responsibly, mistreated the people or abused power, their authority to rule could be withdrawn. Some of the signs that Heaven had withdrawn its royal mandate included natural disasters such as storms, floods, and earthquakes. It was reinforced by Confucianism and its teachings, a social, moral and philosophical code for many ages. Being simply a guide to personal behavior and success, and was a very effective government. This government pushes individuals to show respect to their elders and concern for those in lower social levels. Obedience and loyalty to one’s family and ancestors, good service and manners are expected at all times. Confucius said: “ I don’t worry about not having a good position; I worry about the means I use to gain position. I don’t worry about being unknown; I seek to be known in the right way.” it stressed good conduct and careful thought in all things and enveloped qualities like loyalty, self discipline and respect for your ancestors, elders and
superiors.
In the different levels of social relationships each role had specifically defined tasks ; mutual responsibility between lower and superior was fundamental to the Confucian concept of human relations. The relationship or devotion of the child to his parents, was the foundation for all others. When extended to all human beings, The family unit was seen as a main social unit; relationships within the family were fundamental to everything else and comprised three of the "five relationships" that were the models for others: sovereign-people; husband-wife; parent-children; older brother-younger brother; friend-friend. It was assumed by all schools that government would be monarchical and that the state had its model in the family. The ruler was to be the Son of Heaven, and the father of the people, ruling under Mandate of Heaven. The belief that the state was the moral of the people was reflected in a period of ways most important among these was bureaucracy, or the civil service, in which officials were to be chosen for the moral qualities that would allow them not only to rule, but to set an example that would control and hold the people together.
There is also some self development in a way within Confucianism it is meant that when there is no conflict of aims, of duties and desires, when one wills what he wishes, and with all his heart singly and clearly wishes what he wills, then and not till then does the will become clear and firm and strong.
