Patten, R. Selzer. C. Coffey, J. Carlin, and R. Wolfe addresses a three year study on eating disorder in adolescences ages 14-15 in Australia. Eating disorders are found more commonly in younger females than males. The study is conducted in randomly selecting 44 secondary school in Victoria, Australia. The following measures were used in this study; these measures include eating disorders, weight and height, dieting and exercising, and psychiatric morbidity. The eating disorders test is a test that uses in accordance to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders to assess the criteria for either anorexia nervosa or bulimia nervosa. The weight is measured in 0.1 kg and is measured to the nearest centimeter. Dieting levels depend on calorie counting, the amount of food reduced in each meal, and the number of meal skipped. Exercises measured depends in the daily participation in sport or a formal exercise routine. The psychiatric morbidity measured the mental health status of individual adolescences.
