Being self made is okay. We all want to feel like we are not dependent on any one. That we are capable of doing stuff on our own. Isolating ourselves makes us feel better, a feeling of independence. Some people would like that feeling of independence. That’s where isolation comes into play. Being self made means you don’t mind being isolated majority of the time . You are okay being alone. Isolation even plays a part when it comes to asking questions. Without any distractions it really starts to make you think. It changes your whole perspective on a lot of things. In “ The Yellow Wallpaper” , Jane , recommended to go stay in a house in the country to get rest. Because of a “sickness” she has, which turns out to be postpartum depression. On the first night, Jane starts to have her hallucinations. Isolation has already taken over her mind. Eventually being isolated started to have the greater good. She hallucinated so much she didn’t so much she didn’t even realize she started to look better. Jane starts putting the puzzle pieces together. Finally, she cures herself by figuring out what was happening in her hallucinations. She has freed herself from her “sickness”. Without the help from anybody except the person within herself.
