Background:
+ Total contribution from Travel & Tourism to the world GDP grew by 3.0% (2012), faster than world economy growth as the whole (2.3%), & faster than growth of industries (manufacturing, financial & business services & retail), WTTC.
+ Direct contribution to the world GDP: US$2.1 tril & support 101 million jobs
+ 6 mil international tourists visited VN & this figure is set to increase.
+ 1.9 mil tourists visited the country in the first 3 months of 2012, a rise of 25% compared to the same period in 2011. Revenue close to US$ 2 bil in international tourism in the first quarter of 2011, up 14%, compared to the same period in 2011.
=> Significant contribution of Tourism to country’s economy & potential of VN tourism Purpose of the study:
+ To identify attributes determining the motivation of the visit
+ To identify the tourist segmentation according to the identified dimensions in motivation for the visit
+ To identify the attributes determining satisfaction for each motivation group
+ To find out the relationship between motivation groups and corresponding satisfaction criteria
