The main question here in this case is who is liable, negligent and damages. Deb is driving her car when it is involved in an accident with a car driven by Abe. A few moments after the first crash, a car driven by Ann hits the two cars disabled from the first crash. Cal, a passenger in Abe’s car has a minor injury to his head from the first crash but serious injury to his knees and legs from Ann’s subsequent driving into the first crash. Cal is taken to the hospital where Doctor informs him, correctly, that he will lose both legs unless he consents to an immediate particular type of surgery which may save his legs. Doctor does not inform Cal that this type of surgery, if successful, will mean that his repaired knees will need artificial…
The need to nurture is the idea of taking care of small children or even animals. Dinner should be a meal that is wholesome and that is what Kraft Macaroni and Cheese is all about. They have made idea of dinner better for everyone "Because Kraft Macaroni and Cheese is made with no artificial flavors, preservatives or dyes" (Kraft 89). To nurture gives children the chance to help them later in life "to feed, help, support, console, protect, comfort, nurse, heal." (Fowles 340).…
A nurturing parent is loving, caring, considerate, and would go out of their way to make sure their child has everything they need to succeed.…

4.What are the qualities of a nurturing parent? I think a nurturing parent would go through absolutely EVERYTHING with and for their child and even in the worst situations would support their children and help them move things forward. Even if they don't agree with what has happened. They would try to help them make the future better.…
Genetic traits such as schizophrenia, alcoholism, and depression can affect the behavior of children as they grow older. Some of these traits will reveal themselves later in life and nurturing cannot always deter the behavior these traits bring about. Nurturing, though, can help a child to develop skills that will help him or her cope with everyday life. Nurturing can help a child to develop at the same rate as those children who remain in the home with his or her biological parents.…
John Kotre, University of Michigan-Dearborn, “believes that family stories are very important because these stories combine to tell us who we are as a family, what we think about nature, about life, and working together as a family”. When we put these stories together they create a kind of meaning in which we live our life, it is like a social womb in which our children are nourished (Learner, 2011). Children will hear stories of life and death, these stories will tell us who we are as on individual. In the first week of a child’s life you can tell his/her temperament, but not about the story, meaning how he/she is going to turn out. The building blocks of temperament can last throughout a lifetime. Some aspect of a baby temperament are genetically determine, at birth some babies may appear content and easy going, while others are restless and never seem to get comfortable, studies have showed that qualities like these are the building blocks of temperament.…
Erikson’s first stage of development is that of infancy which focuses on the child’s first 18 months of life. During this time a child is supposed to develop optimism, trust, confidence, and security. These key elements are developed through the love and care of a parent or primary care giver. If these elements are not nurtured then a child is more likely to develop mistrust, insecurities, and the feeling of worthlessness (Erikson 1968). During this stage of my own life, I can say that I received a great deal of love and nurturing from both of my parents. Of course I do not remember this stage in my life, but I have often heard stories about my early years. I was told that I was the apple of my father’s eye. There was nothing that I wanted or needed that he did not try to supply. I was told how he wanted another child even when my mother was adamant that she was done. They already had two children, a girl and a boy, and she did not want any more. The way the story is told, my father used a little persistence and a little alcohol on their anniversary and he got his way. Nine months later I was born and he could not have been happier.…
If an infant’s parents are constantly working to keep a roof over their heads instead of providing a constant source to satisfy basic needs of the family, according to Erikson’s theory, the child will be mistrustful and lack hope in their development because of a lack of intimacy experienced during infancy; however, it’s arguable that later in life as the individual understands what the parents were doing they would have significant trust with the parents and appreciation for their sacrifice at the time. The author also understands these stages not to be fixed and rigid. If an individual does not attain the positive virtue from a step at the critical time period, it does not mean that they cannot progress through the rest of the stages or that they will never attain the positive…
Understanding how individual personalities are shaped has yet to be fully uncovered, by modern research standards. What does the research say about how parents affect the development of children’s personalities? In answering this question, this paper addresses how much of a child’s personality is actually hard-wired by genetics and how much is influenced by parents, through bonding, attention and even neglect. The long-standing question of nature vs. nurture has plagued scientists for centuries and current research is attempting to answer just how powerfully ones parents can affect ones future. In order, this paper concentrates on first the nurture aspect of personality development in children, followed by the argument for nature, to provide contrast. 4 relevant journal articles were sourced to provide adequate background on research and trends in psychological studies.…
I was born in an unfair world with life itself as a difficulty, but gratefully in a world that gave me many opportunities. I was born in a place and a time where new life itself was restricted. I was born in Hunan Province in 1998, south central China in a Communist country, where the one child policy was then in place. It was a policy that restricted families to only one child to reduce the enormous country’s population. Males were preferred over females, because males could take on the family name and property. Unfortunately, I was put up for adoption, but luckily I was adopted by my mom when I was four years old. It definitely gave me more opportunities in my life than I would have if I was back in China. Five years later, my mom died from cancer. I always have lived in a single parent household. I felt I had to raise myself because of the lack of parenting which caused me to become independent at a very young age. This was the start of my need for and development of the trait…
In a nurturing environment we a brought up in a good, nice way. We know what is right and what is wrong. We gather many experiences of the world around us. Our parents are the biggest factors in personality development. We copy what they do, try to do the…
When it comes to child's developmental factors, parents are the primary source of their growth. Why? According to a new study from a senior health and science correspondent at Reuters Sharon Begley (2011), negative factors in parents' lives, and parents' bad treatment of children might contribute to some serious negative effects on their children. These negative effects include social problems, emotional problems, and physical problems.…
