Abstract page: Political Participation is affected by age, gender, and race. Age affects participation because you must be 18 in order to vote. But still facts show that older people still vote more that younger people. Gender is a factor because women tend to vote more into private affairs than men and men vote and participate more in political parties. According to race African Americans have seemed the most loyal to Democrats, as well as Hispanics. Cuban Americans vote for Republicans more often and Asians vote for Democrats more often. So this goes to show age, gender, and race can affect political participation.

Mainly because you must be eighteen in order to vote. But, older people still participate in the politics more often than younger people do. According to this website more educated people turnout to vote more than uneducated people. So this goes to show that age may be the biggest factor towards political participation. Another factor is gender, Political attitudes show that women are more likely to have voted in private activism more than men. But men are more likely to vote in direct contact, collective types of actions and be more active towards political parties. So yeah gender can play a role in political participation as well in who men or women may vote for. Women tend to vote towards the Republican side, but after 1960 women started voting towards the Democratic side. Lastly, another major factor is the race of the citizen. African Americans have seemed the most loyal to Democrats, as well as Hispanics. Cuban Americans vote for Republicans more often and Asians vote for Democrats more often.
