Racism in the American military has been an issue since the pre-civil war era. Over the past few decades, the effect of racial discrimination in the US army has reduced drastically, thanks to the reformation of the legal system and continues campaign for equality in the American society. Despite this enormous improvement of racial and class equity in the American military today, the abuse, courage and tolerance of the racially segregated soldiers during the World War II is a subject of historical basis. American military war in the World War 2 started in 1941 which involves war against Germany, Italy and Japan. Millions of Americans served their nation during this historic event. Many thought that African American soldiers did not play any significant role during this historic war because of racial discrimination about the ability of a black person. Some soldiers joined because they want a better life while some joined because of their commitment for American victory. Based on the new racial integration policy of the military code, they hope to serve in a well-balanced military system that kicks against oppression and racism. However, black soldiers were segregated to an all-black session that is subject to white soldiers command. Nevertheless, they did not resign from the military because they saw it as a better source of livelihood. They were also committed to serve in the American army not because of the anti-racism military code, but because of the segregation in the American society as at that time; they were precarious to be involved and participate in
