They just want the desire and sexual act. It has been stated by some research that men are more interested in sex than women.
The Sexualization Report (2013), collaborated by Feona Attwood, Clare Bale, and Meg Barker, points out how sexualization is grasping our society. . In the sexualization Report, Sexualization is defined as “that deviant, or abnormal, forms of sexuality and sexual practice are becoming ‘normalized’” (Attwood, F., Bale, C. and Barker, M. (2013)). The report counts with over thirty academic experts’ contributions, conclusions in different subject areas. Society is experiencing a wide range of the issues relating to sex, sexuality, and sexual health and wellbeing. It seems that those problems are hiding behind behind sexualization and the most affected are the young generation.
Are young people becoming more sexual?
The young generation is continuously pressured from social media. We all are constantly attacked with sexual messages in the TV shows, clothes, music, movies, magazine, etc. The negative effects of sexualized media are becoming a major concern of particular concern are children and young people. There is more sexual danger and fear issues. Sexualization has increased sexual behavior, including exhibitionist games and lap dancing. It produces pregnancy and sexual exchanges (sexting). The most affected are the female. Sexualization not only affects behavior but also the perception of gender. Girls are seen as sexual objects. Some women may feel that they must perform in order to keep their relationship. Women usually are more concerned with what their partners want than what they actually want. Also, women want to be wanted by their partners, so there is a link between sex and attraction. Females wants be considered attractive and desirable by man. It is a pressure to appear in certain ways. The sexual problem is that some people are feeling uncomfortable with their bodies, appearance.
The perspective of sex and sexuality is changing everyday.
Even though it changes over cultures, its becoming more normal. People are now more active sexually. There is greater acceptance of sexual relations of all kinds- there is a diverse sexually communities (lesbian, gay, and bisexual). The idea of having sex before marriage was not acceptable, it was seen wrong. It all has changed. People began to challenge the belief that sex should be limited to marriage. Nowadays, people are more liberal and sex is normal. Its publically display everywhere. This change of the perception of sex is now changing the behavior and innocence of adults, young people, and even a
child.
Human sexuality is part of everyone’s life. Despite your age, race, background, human sexuality plays a crucial role in someone’s life. It part of who they are and how they act. But, why study human sexuality? What we gain from it? Well, sexuality influences human behavior. Therefore, it will help understand human patterns regarding relationships. We will gain an insight what people thinks and what they expect from a romantic relationship. Moreover, how certain factors like technology and social norms influence they act in relationships. Additionally, we will comprehend the connection between relationships, sex, and sexuality.
The current study, “Relationships, Sex and Sexuality in NYC”, is being conducted by John Jay College students in their neighborhood. The purpose of this research study is to obtain date from a diverse community and analyze it to gain a better understanding of what residents of the New York City area thinks about relationship, sex and sexuality and how it has changed. It’s a way to gain insight of people’s experiences and beliefs. The findings of this study will help contribute to the data analysis of identifying patterns that help to understand how individual’s idea and behaviors have changed or not changed in New York City. This project has been under the supervision and direction of Professor Sarah Rivera at John Jay College.
