The lead professional may be based in any sector of the children, young people or family workforce, depending on the issues involved and the individual relationship with the child.The lead professional will be the single point of contact for the child or family. Teamwork is essential to enable educators to assist the child in reaching their full potential. As a support worker it would be my responsibility to ensure that the child has the work adapted so that they can access the curriculum.
To do this I would need to be aware of the child’s particular needs and their preferred way of learning. This would need to be communicated to me via the SENCO. I would need a good relationship with the class teacher and a copy of their weekly plans to enable me to have time
