The Ryan Wingate Foundation
The Ryan Wingate Foundation

In honor of Ryan Christopher Wingate, son of George & Laura Ames and Chris Wingate. Please join us on _______ at the Addison fire department to put together Easter baskets for Motts Childrens Hospital

Ryan was born on March 08, 1983 and had spina bifida and lung disease all his life. Ryan passed away on February 05, 2014 at home just prior to his 31st birthday. Ryan spent most of his life in a Medical Group Home located in Hillsdale Michigan where he was cared for by Debbie and Mark Berlin. Because Ryan spent so much time at Motts Children Hospital his family used all the proceeds donated to Ryan at the time of his passing along with other accumulated funds to purchase items for Easter Baskets. Family members gathered to assemble the Easter Baskets for the children at Motts Children’s Hospital. Ryans family will pass out the baskets prior to Easter Sunday. Ryans family would like to do this for the children at Motts Hospital every Easter. If you care to donate to “The Ryan Wingate Foundation” please send to 318 S. Talbot, Addison MI 49220 and note that the contribution is for The Ryan Wingate Foundation. Also Many of the children at Motts Hospital cannot even get out of bed and some have never been out of a bed. Many families have been financially exhausted, so anything you contribute would greatly benefit a child. Thank you on behalf of Ryan’s family who will appreciate anything anyone can do to help. Thank you everyone.

My children and I volunteered to help set up the facility for this year’s Thanksgiving dinner. The day before Thanksgiving we drove to downtown Atlanta to the Georgia World Congress and Convention Center. We were amazed by the number of volunteers already there. There were people from all walks of life, executives, athletes, clergy, housewives and fathers, and even some people who were clearly in need themselves.…

In the fall of 1947, with a hand crafted Raggedy Ann doll, the wife of Marine Reserve Major Bill Hendricks made this doll and asked her husband if he would “deliver it to an organization that would put it in the hands of a needy child on Christmas Day”. ( ) Unfortunately, Mr. Hendricks could find no such agency to provide this service. To fill that void, Major Hendricks’ wife told him he should start one and indeed he did. That same year, Major Bill Hendricks, USCR, and a group of Marine Reservists collected and distributed 5,000 toys to needy children. The scheme was so successful that it was expanded into a nationwide campaign after the Marine Corps adopted Toys For Tots in 1948. They have conducted successful campaigns nationwide each year since then. The hallmark that remains the initial objective of the program today is to “bring the joy of Christmas to America’s needy children.”…

The action plan has to do with my partner and I informing students about World hunger. On how amazingly it’s grown. The plan is to inform students and families in our communities on how people around the world, different communities and even neighbors go to sleep hungry. We want to make them realize that the more food there is the more the hunger there is. We plan on doing a bake sale and selling many goodies such as brownies, cookies, cupcakes and even sundaes! It may not be a big event but that little donation could help feed a few empty stomachs. We plan on donating to Food banks, Shelters, and missions in our own community. We chose our community because its one step at a time and what better than helping those around us in need. Another thing is that we are also making ribbons to support the cause. The ribbons we will make will be orange and yellow we will be giving them out during our presentations. They are going to represent how even with a little donation or a can of food you helped someone go to bed with a full tummy and a smile on their face. We also created an article that explains on how people suffer from hunger. We are hoping that these articles we wrote would help parents and students realize on how we should be thankful that we have a good meal everyday. We hope to impact people with our project and to help those in need. Because you never know maybe someone real close to you is suffering and you might not even…

Tuesday, December the eighth, I had my first experience volunteering. As an active member of Webster County High School’s Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) club, I decided that I would leave archery practice a few minutes early and head towards the Providence Food Bank. Every second Tuesday of each month, HOSA meets at the food bank at five-thirty to help prepare senior citizen boxes and assist people in shopping at the food bank. Intrigued by the opportunity to gain a few bonus points and support the club that I am passionate about, I figured why not give it a…

I’m always honored to do a flyer for ministries that have the goal of reaching those that are lost. I tend to put more time and effort into them than my other projects, because of my love for Jesus Christ. I decided I would start to attend these community sessions on Monday it was only for an hour from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. In the first session I was asked to pray for those that came and I did. This group reminded me of how I was when I came to Christ I wouldn’t let anything stop me from getting feed spiritually. Some of them were teenagers, others singles, some families, it was beautiful to see them desire more of God in their lives; hear the questions and then fellowship with them once the word was given, prayer ended.…
