The first cause of the Salem Witch Trials hysteria was the Puritans beliefs in God. The Puritans beliefs were strong and it them through their whole life. The evidence proves that they take every word in the Bible serious which caused the Salem Witch Trials hysteria because the Bible says that witchcraft was a sin and the Devil was real. The Puritans beliefs made a connection between the Devil and witch. Betty Parris and Abigal Williams ( two young girls) were trying to find out their fortunes.
