He had been planning this massacre for a few years before it actually had happened and finally worked up enough research to do it.…
President Obama’s comments are expected, necessary, and typical of a posttraumatic event happening somewhere in the United States. People of America need the reassurance that everything is going to be all right and we look to our president for that reassurance. Being a president, Obama has to deliver great speeches, and the Statement on the Sandy Hook Elementary School Shootings, being one of them. He uses copious rhetorical devices, rhetorical appeals, and the meaning behind his speech was heart warming to the community and the nation.…

The lives of many were to change on the day of April 20th, 1999, at Columbine High School. With the death of twelve students and one teacher, it was to be the deadliest mass murder committed on an American high school campus. This event is what sparked Moore to create his documentary, ‘Bowling for Columbine’.…

The Boston Massacre was a tragic incident the occurred on March 5, 1770. Five colonists were shot dead during this event. Some people believe it was an accident and someone yelled fire and not the British leader. Others believe it was planned and their leader DID yell fire at the scene.…
One thing people have a right to do is respond to an attack against them that might put them in risk of physical harm. It has been shown that the British were being attacked and put in a situation that if they did not respond to could lead to their deaths. However, who really started the fight that lead to the Boston Massacre? Once again, American bias has led many modern-day Americans to believe that it was Captain Preston and his British soldiers taunting colonists, or making despising comments. However, this can be proven false. Taken from a primary source document, we see that it was again the unruly colonists that are the cause of the conflict, “the rope-makers insultingly asked them if they would empty a vault. This unfortunately had the desired effect by provoking the soldiers, and from words they went to blows. Both parties suffered in this afftay, and finally the soldiers retired to their quarters. The officers, on the first knowledge of this transaction, took every precaution in their power to prevent any ill consequence. Notwithstanding which, single quarrels could not be prevented, the inhabitants constantly provoking and abusing the soldiery. The insolence as well as utter hatred of the inhabitants to the troops increased daily, insomuch that Monday and Tuesday, the 5th and 6th instant, were privately agreed on for a general engagement, in consequence of which several of the militia came from the country armed to join their friends, menacing to destroy any who should oppose them. This plan has since been discovered”.…
The Boston Massacre brought about questions and arguments between Great Britain and the colonies that had been under surface for quite some time. Most people think of the Boston Massacre as some riled up colonists tormenting the invasive redcoats and then paying the price of antagonizing, but there was a much bigger meaning behind the killings. As in any war, there were two very different stories from either side trying to validate their actions. All of the Acts and restrictions placed upon the colonies had finally boiled to the point of explosion; there was much more behind the Boston Massacre than it seems on the surface. The massacre was the peak, not the start of the colonists’ rebellion.…
Hurricane Sandy was a tropical cyclone that devastated portions of the Caribbean, Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern United States in late October 2012. The eighteenth named storm and tenth hurricane of the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season, Sandy was the largest Atlantic hurricane on record, as measured by diameter, with winds spanning 1,100 miles. Sandy is estimated in early calculations to have caused damage of at least $20 billion. Preliminary estimates of losses that include business interruption surpass $50 billion, which, if confirmed, would make it the second-costliest Atlantic hurricane in history, behind only Hurricane Katrina.…
If someone were to rely solely on television media, it wouldn't surprise me if he/she thought that America's schools were being taken over by these so-called "juvenile super predators." The American people would assume that every quiet kid who gets picked on is going to turn around in school one day and start unloading his newly acquired firearms on his peers. This is hardly the case. While there may be an occasional "super-predator," the media has highly over publicized these rare, extraordinary events.…
