Scandinavian Vikings weren’t all that bad as people say they are, when the vikings raided the tribes the tribesmen and women tried to resist and that where you get the all of the gruesome, savage, and ruthlessness from. If the tribesmen and women would have greeted them and offered them to trade goods and become allies with them then the vikings wouldn’t be as mean and forceful towards the tribesman and women. Most of the tribes tried to resist and fight for their land, vikings were trying to explore new land and bring new goods back to where they came from. Once they reached North America or ‘Vinland’, Leif Eriksson and his crew did not get along with the abnormal people there. While Leif Eriksson was there they went to village to village trading with villagers and if they tried to steal or take advantage of Leif and his crew they would kill all of the townspeople and burn all of their houses and buildings down. Leif’s main goal and only reason why he began the expedition was to start a new settlement, they tried this by trading with the native people, herding livestock, and try to become one with the natives. Once they have reached their goal on a new settlement they grabbed all of the goods and sources that they could find and brought it back to Scandinavia.
Leif Eriksson and his crew members are hero’s in my book. They were the first ones to discover America, start a new settlement, discover new goods, and find new religions and new languages. Leif Eriksson and the vikings don’t get as much recognition anymore, they were the first to do everything and they gave Christopher Columbus and other great explorers ideas to explore and find new land. Without Vikings we wouldn’t be here in North America or we would be in Europe learning a different language or religion. Without Vikings the world would be completely
