Dance-A-Thon Script

(Jolie)Welcome everyone and thanks for coming to Youth for Hospice’s third annual Dance-A-Thon.

• I’m Jolie Denburg
And I’m the President of Youth for Hospice. • I’m Faryn Corey and I’m the vice president of Youth for Hospice

(Faryn):We’re all here to raise money for a very important cause—United Hospice of Rockland.

(Jolie) In case you don’t know about Hospice, Hospice takes care of people who are terminally ill. We also help the families who are taking care of a loved one who is ill, and help people in our community whose loved one has died. It’s important work, and United Hospice of Rockland is the only community based hospice doing this work in Rockland County.

• I’m Becca Seiden • And I’m Samantha Streitman • And we are the co-chairs of the dance-a-thon

(Becca and Sam): Tonight’s Dance-A-Thon has been planned by Youth For Hospice, a group of high school students who got together to help United Hospice of Rockland by volunteering our time and helping to raise money and awareness. We invite any of you who are interested to join us for future fundraising projects and community service activities.

The only provider of hospice services is Valley Hospice, Inc., in Middleboro, and they mostly provide emotional support to adult cancer patients and their families. They do not provide the full array of hospice services needed throughout the Middleboro community.
