For many years, Christianity was considered to the be the only religion of importance. However, as people have migrated and relocated to other parts of the world, so has religious freedom. One of the religions Christianity is compared and contrasted with is Sikhism. It is unknown to many people, but its followers are continuously growing. Although one religion is thousands of years old and the other is fairly new, they do share a few similarities (Tanabe, 2014). Both religions faithfully believe in God’s existence in every single thing. In addition, both groups agree that the fundamental purpose of one’s life is to honor and obey God and develop an intimate relationship with him. The differences between the two religions outweigh the similarities. For instance, Christians are known for displaying pictures of God throughout their places of worship. On the other hand, Sikhs view this kind of behavior as idolatry. When it relates to the subject of life after death, Christians wholeheartedly believe in the existence of Heaven, Hell, and eternal purgatory as well.
