Every individual that is born into the universe are brought into a culture at a very young age. Only thing is what is culture? How does someone know that they belong to a culture? That is where the beauty of the answer is released. Culture is whatever an individual is born into and their background., whatever as an individual you declare is part of the culture. We all come from different cultures, but we all are bound together by similar or the same salient. In the end, though culture is a part of all our lives and learning about all the other cultures allows us to get an inside about every human being we share the earth with and how they are an important aspect into this world.

The first thing that appears onto everyone’s mind when it comes to culture is family. Family is typically the top of the list of characteristic of both our cultures as they are important aspects in life that in the end is all that we have. When comparing both cultures with family, we both hold family to that high standard as it’s the baseline and everything for us. In the African American family is based more on the power structure. The roles of the parents and child are very traditional when it comes to their culture. Parents are the boss and the child have no say in any decisions they make. All the children must do what they are told and give respect to their parents or guardian. While Hispanics family is more balanced as everyone takes part in decisions. The roles between child and parent are alike, but the voices of child are more spoken compared to the African American culture. Although the structure of the family for their culture mine be very strict, family is still important as family gatherings are very joyful. It allows the time for all the family members come together and catch up with everyone as food is the center of the whole party. They express this manner, even online as many people have made memes (An illustration used to be either humorous or imitate a certain behavior or cultures).
