The Similarities Between The Patriot And The Revolution

The patriot,was made in 2001 Revolution, in 1985. the setting in the Patriot opens up to the main character, Mel Gibson who owns a farm, he has 4 kids. But he ends up fighting for his one son who dies, for his right. Revolution opens up to Tom Dobb, a master fur trader who shows up a New York at a bad time. His son Volunteers to fight the war so Tom Dobb follows in the war unwillingly to protect his son. But what are the similarities? what are the differences? Some of the similarities are they both are fighting in a war. Ben and Tom both fought in the American Revolution War. They both fall in love with a woman (typical) Ben with his dead wife’s sister after she says,
“ I’m not like her.”
*Cue the music* And Tom after he meets Lily. And they both have an reason there fighting for related to their son. They both have a “enemy” for Tom the man who whipped his son's feet. Ben the man who shot his son, and killed him. But of course, there are differences. Ben lives in South Carolina, Tom in New York. They both have different “study’s” Ben in farming and Tom a fur trader. The characters are also different, in my opinion Ben is willing to do anything. Tom just wants to get out of there.
Both are good movies but, in my opinion Patriot is better the way they show the scenes you can follow it revolution… not so much. also revolution has bad fighting scenes. there realistic so its kinda boring. Ben shows more love, and caring and tom is just tom. But i like them both just patriot more. the patriot has more emotional scenes and hits you in the heartstrings and they got a higher movie review. Revolution got 17 on rotten tomatoes and patriot got 61. Kind of a big difference there. The movie has differences and they are alike but which ones better? You decide!
