Section A The Sisterhood of the Traveling pants is about a group of four friends who are going to be split up from each other for the first time in the upcoming summer. The girls are out shopping when they come across a pair of jeans that fits all four of them perfectly even though they are all different shapes and sizes. Lena goes to Greece to visit her grandparents. While she is there she meets a boy named Kostos while wearing the pants. It turns out that her family and Kostos family are enemies because of something in the past. Even though his family does not approve, Kostos still tries to be with Lena. Lena realizes that she is afraid of love once Kostos tells her that he loves her. Finally Lena tells Kostos that she loves him too. Tibby works at a department store and during one of her shifts a girl faints and Tibby is the one to find her. She calls for help and the girl is taken to the hospital. When it is Tibbys turn to receive the pants they are delivered to the wrong house. When the pants are delivered to the right house Bailey, the girl who fainted, was the one to pass them on. Tibby is in the process of making a movie and Bailey decides to be her assistant. At first Tibby is annoyed but after becoming close to Bailey, Tibby learns that she has leukemia. Bailey is sent to the hospital due to complications and Tibby tries to give her the pants to help her. Bailey tells Tibby that the pants have already worked their magic because they brought the two together. A few days later Bailey passes away. Bridget is off to soccer camp where she develops a thing for one of the coaches named Eric. She tells him that she has a mind of recklessness because of her mothers suicide. Even though coaches cant be with students Bridget still goes after Eric. The two eventually end up together for one night. When Bridget gets home all the girls try to cheer her up because she feels she is turning into her mother. Carmen is the last of the girls. She spent her summer in South Carolina with her father who suddenly introduces her to his new to be family. Carmen is Puerto Rican and the new family is white. Carmen felt neglected the whole time she was with her father causing her to break a window and come home to Maryland. Later she calls her father and tells him how she is feeling and he apologizes. She attends the wedding when the time came around.

Section B
1. The theme of this movie is friendship and sticking together no matter what the circumstances. Each girl had her own story when she went off on the journey of the summer. Each with their own problems, but the girls found a way to stick together and “be” with each other throughout the summer although they were miles apart.
2. Bridget is the most outgoing. She knows how to hide what she is really feeling. She always seems to have her guard up because she doesn’t want to turn out like her mother. She seems to be the most daring. She goes after a coach after she knows the rules about flings between campers and coaches and eventually gets what she thinks she wants which only upsets her.
Tibby is the punk rock type of girl. She has a tendency to get annoyed easily but then calms down after a while. She is very caring. She spent so much time at the hospital with Bailey before she passed away and you don’t do that unless you care about that person.

Section C
1. The girls in the sisterhood are Lena, Tibby, Bridget, and Carmen. This is a group of tight knit friends who have never spent a summer apart and are about to face journeys all on their own. The meaning of the “traveling pants” is so the girls can somewhat stay connected through these magical pants. Each time the pants are sent off a letter is sent with them telling about the journey that they have just experienced.
2. I think I relate to Lena most. She seems to be kind of quiet and to herself. She also mentions being afraid of love. I have been hurt before and can definitely relate to being afraid of letting someone back in.
Section D
This movie was very relatable to real life. The first action that I saw that also happens in real life is the situation with Carmen. Most parents these days get divorced and remarried and a lot of the times the kids do not have a say in what happens or who the parent remarries. Many children and step parents do not get along which causes tension between the child and biological parent.
The next action that is relatable to real life is Lena’s situation. She is afraid of love or to let someone in. A lot of people who get hurt kind of shut down after that relationship ends and it takes a while for them to get back on their feet. This also deals with abandonment issues which can happen from someone dying or like if a child is adopted they may feel that their real parents abandon them which makes it hard for them to be able to trust or love anybody else.
Tibby’s situation can pretty much relate to any teenage girl. She has an ordinary job at a supermarket and is also the babysitter in her family. Many teenage girls who live in a small town get their first job as a babysitter or maybe even a cashier at the local grocery store.
Bridget’s situation is the only one that I do not think happens very often. Many teenagers have to deal with losing parents due to suicide or car accidents or something like that but I do not hear of the teenagers going after a much older soccer coach or teacher. I guess those are the situations you hear about on the news when they get caught and the teacher/coach goes to jail.
