Do you ever wonder how far us the people have to go through to see a change
in our nation? The Sixties was an era when people fought and struggled against
injusties. Many significant protest such as the civil rights movement made differences to
the world today, including the Vietnam War had some misery and for this reason the
politics of protest and the counterculture had their methods in change even if it meant
to have changes in their lifestyles. The Sixties was an era of many scrafices to see the
change happen and for a better future in our nation.
Many African American in the 1960's demanded for a change and the end of
discrimination together they set goals known as for the civil rights movement. after so
many shames many began to speak out in a non-violent matter many demostrators
rome the streets led by a strong civil rights leader Martin Luther King, who gave many
strong powerful speeches throught out the marches they held."We as the people will

His goals was to create equal rights and end discrimination of the people. As a result of
his death, Congress passed The Civil Rights Act of 1964.(Appleby) Also many young
African college students were motivated to achieve rights as well at college campuses
movements which soon validated the students' rights to freedom of speech under the
Civil rights Act. All in all, many African Americans achieved many goals protesting for
their civil rights, dispite the struggles of getting beaten and killed throught the process,
many were successful.
