During the eve of Saint Dolores”s Day, fifty steers traveled to the Alto Slaughterhouse. The Alto Slaughterhouse was located in southern part of Buenos Aires. As the steers arrived at the slaughterhouse, a crowd of people stole some of the meats. There were only forty-nine steers that were slaughtered, as a ferocious bull attacked the city. The mazorca was Rosas’ henchman that released the bull. The city was in complete chaos as an innocent boy and man died from the bull. The Federalists worked together to capture the bull. Matasiete was the most powerful butcher. He is characterized as a man of few words and quick to react in situations that involved violence. Motivated by the crowd, the matasiete killed the bull. As the crowd sees a unitarian, he is blamed for the actions of the mazorca. The Unitarian expressed his emotions out of anger that the Federalist should act as wild animals and be on all fours. Also, he exclaimed that the Federalists should remain as slaves and never receive their freedom. The Unitarian tried to escape from the Federalists, but died in the process. The Federalists only wanted to torture the unitarian.
