The theme of the short story, “The Sniper”, by Liam O’Flaherty is, war isn’t always the answer. This is the theme because he was attempting to snipe the enemy in the short story but then ended up killing someone he loved. In the story it says, “The sniper turned over the dead body and looked into his brother’s face.” (O’Flaherty 3). The sniper was in a sniping battle and ended up killing his brother.
